" a 'revolution in attitudes' is needed to safeguard children from sex abusers, according to the shadow home secretary, yvette cooper.in an interview with the independent on sunday, ms cooper said that the problem was wider than the historic cases uncovered through the jimmy savile scandal and the abuse of hundreds of children in rotherham.she said that childrens voices must be heard by organisations which had failed to act in the past, and pledged that a labour government would make the reporting of abuse a legal requirement... we need to introduce mandatory reporting so that no institution can ever be tempted to think that the reputation of the institution matters more than the protection of the child ... there has to be a stronger obligation to report and to act.labour has included mandatory reporting in the partys pre-election manifesto and has also said it will set up a cross-whitehall unit to tackle child protection.

Hi Zeb.
Sorry, what I meant in the title is that these are countries that I know do not have mandatory reporting (not in all states of america, which is the aim of the 2nd petition I posted.), and that I could find well supported petitions for.
This page does says that mandatory reporting only applies to certain professions in Western Australia. I cannot find any online petitions.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how we can make a difference by emailing/petitioning, please post them here..
(Just found this regarding australia, although slightly off-topic. Bravehearts souns like a fine organisation.)
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse will hold private sessions in Townsville for the first time from today until March 20. The sessions are met with a mix of relief and trepidation for 18 survivors who now have the opportunity to tell the RC of their experiences in a private session with a Commissioner.
This can be an important part of the healing process and along with Bravehearts, Commission staff provide counselling and can arrange interpreters or other communication assistance if required.
If you're interested in getting involved in the private hearing process or would like to talk to someone about your story, please call Bravehearts on 1800 272 831.
Bravehearts is dedicated to the Royal Commission’s success and is providing community based support services for those wishing to engage with the Royal Commission.
Bravehearts is here to support those who wish to come forward and share their story and experiences with the Royal Commission.
We can:
We operate a free call national Information and Support Line 1800 BRAVE1 (1800 272 831) (8am to 8pm AEST) to assist clients and their families with any queries pertaining to the Royal Commission or child sexual assault generally

the government has announced plans to make it a legal obligation for social workers, teachers and councillors to report child abuse.
the churches' child protection advisory service has called for the proposed law to apply to churches.
The above was the reply from Simon Bass.
The letter referred to was the October 2012 elders letter I sent him. I included the abc video and article, with several other news items, like the Reveal article.

here are the court details and the story behind it all... man suing watchtower for disfellowshipping/defamation.
No. The case stands to be dismissed, though the judge is open to further submissions.
It's very strange, order a copy and read it for yourself. It was only filed one day after the limit..
